Because if you knew anything about Greek Mythology and Zeus in particular you would know that they would NEVER entrust something like that to another Pantheon. He wouldn't even entrust something like that to his own children, much less gods of a different Pantheon.
It doesn't "have" to make sense, but it makes things so much better when the story does make sense. And an ancient Greek mythological relic being entrusted to a completely differen't Pantheon does not, in any way, make sense. As for things changing later..its possible, if it makes it past a single season...doubtful considering the viewership.
A Satyr makes perfect sense as Satyr's ARE Greek mythology and a witch could have gotten it many many years later. A completely different pantheon doesn't make sense. As for your silly comment about the imitation, as I said, it's silly. For one, the white lighter in the original series ended up marrying one of the sisters(Piper), second, you can't have a Charmed without three female witches, it's the entire basis for the series. The biggest mimicry I've seen(and I have watched every episode so far) was what I mentioned before. Notice, I didn't say it was a bad thing.
Part of this episode doesn't make much sense. Why would an ancient Egyptian deity be entrusted as a guardian for an ancient Greek mythological relic? Spoiler alert: Also, seems like they are trying to mimic the old Charmed in a way as well...the empath falling for a half demon, only she doesn't know he's a half demon.
I have to say, at this point in time it seems they have totally destroyed the character of Manchester Black. Right now, the only thing they have right is that he is an Englishman. Hopefully that will change in the future, he is a very interesting character in the comics and the movie Superman and the Elite.
@Schrunsekris Personally, in my opinion, if you do not compare the two shows this one only has one major problem that really needs to be toned down to make it a decent show. If they didn't try to club you over the head every 5 minutes with the feminist agenda thing, it would be fine. The story is somewhat interesting and two of the sisters are likeable. The third sister would be likeable, like I said, if she just toned down the feminist agenda crap. And no, I'm not a sexist as some other idiot called me for not liking that. Even the old charmed pushed the feminist agenda, but they did it in subtle ways and didn't try to club you over the head with it and it was more enjoyable because of that.
